About Me

My Story

I have always dreamed of becoming a doctor. All my school years were defined by learning how the human body works to achieve my desired university.

When I joined the school swimmers team, I realised how amazing our body is and how the proper training can change and improve it. I was improving fast, and I started to win competitions on different levels. At this time of my career, I couldn’t predict which complications I may find on my way.

After a few years, I started to have some health problems and the first severe contusions, making it impossible to continue swimming.

Based on my experiences with professional sport, I realised that as a doctor, I would never have this opportunity to work as close to the patient as I would like to work. I wanted to create a real impact on someone’s career or life, so I changed my goal. From now on, I wanted to become a physiotherapist.

I reached my goal first in 2017 when I officially got my bachelor’s degree, and I decided to continue. In July 2019, I was formally holding my dreamed master degree in physiotherapy. For all my years at the university, I was working in hospitals and private clinics. I was attending to all courses and lectures. I am a certified trigger point therapist according to the Ed Willson method and many more.

Through all these years, I have learned that a proper education could resolve most pain problems. Why?
A human body is like a machine, but nobody gives us instructions on using it, even though kids learn to sit, walk, and run by pure intuition. These movements are staying with us for all our lives. And it is after years of using the body when a person starts to have problems. The explanation of it is pretty straightforward, but it leads us to the evolution of humankind.

Our ancestors often had problems with food. It wasn’t often nutritive enough, or it wasn’t even achievable. So our body made unique ways to deal with it. One of them is energy preservation in fat tissue, and another one lowering our energy consumption. I hope the first one is clear, so let’s talk about the other one as it is our key to adulthood pain problems. Our body knows how to guide a child through a growing process. If the parents don’t interrupt or rush a child, most likely, he will develop correct movement patterns. But even such an easy position as standing, if made correctly, requires a lot of muscle work equal to high energy consumption. Why do so many people have bad posture? Because wrong movement pattern is much comfier to us than keeping it right. We use our static structures such as bones and joints to maintain body weight and feel less tired. Still, at the same time, we are not conscious of the pressures that our bones, joints and ligaments are dealing with.

It is a reason why I created Bodies Up. I want to spread this knowledge. I want to give people a chance to have a good relationship with their bodies. To understand why sometimes they have back pain or why running or even sometimes walking feels like a fight for each step.

Let’s take this journey together and fight for a better life.
